Adinkra Circular Economic Model: Biotechnology for nutrient recycling

Domestic production of poultry in many African countries is currently at 10% of total consumption, and the gap is filled by imports. For instance, Ghana’s annual import bill of poultry products averages some USD350Million. This trend is projected to increase with increasing population growth, urbanisation, and fast-food joints across major cities in Africa. The poultry sector in many African countries has therefore been non-competitive due to the high cost of raw materials needed to formulate the poultry feed. Adinkra, therefore, explores the power of biotechnology to produce alternative feed for our feed formulation  that is nutritionally balanced
